Cruise flights · 2026–27 season
Flights for Sydney–Auckland cruises
A Sydney–Auckland voyage starts in one country and ends in another, so the flight is an open-jaw: out to one city, home from the other. Booked as two one-way tickets it usually costs far more; priced together as one itinerary it doesn’t.

Flights to get you there
The building blocks of an open-jaw: one route into the start port, one home from the end port.
- How an open-jaw works
- You fly out to the embarkation city and home from the disembarkation city on one ticket. Sydney via Los Angeles, San Francisco or Dallas; Auckland via San Francisco. We line up the arrival with the sailing and the return with the day you dock.
- Sydney cruise terminals
- Most ships use the Overseas Passenger Terminal at Circular Quay, opposite the Opera House — about 25–35 minutes from Sydney Airport by car, or around 20–25 minutes by train to Circular Quay. Larger ships berth at White Bay in Rozelle, 25–40 minutes by car.
- Auckland cruise wharves
- Ships berth at Queens Wharf (passengers meet at Shed 10) or Princes Wharf, both a few minutes’ walk from downtown and Britomart. The airport is about 22 km away: 30–40 minutes by car off-peak, 45–60 minutes on the SkyDrive bus.
Frequently Asked Questions
Question 01
Is an open-jaw ticket more expensive?
Not when it’s priced as one itinerary. Two separate one-way business tickets usually cost much more than a single open-jaw fare, which is how we quote it.
